Biography
Bilal Shafique is a Ph.D. in Atomic Astrophysics. Primarily, his research focuses on the studies to experimentally measure the photoionization cross sections from the excited states and to study the photo-absorption spectra of astrophysically-important reactive non-metals, the alkaline-earths, and lanthanides to find the signatures of life in extraterrestrial space. Besides, he has been involved in plasma diagnostic studies using pulsed lasers. Till date, he has authored and published 7 research articles with a total of 57 citations in high-impact factor peer-reviewed journals of the international re- pute. Additionally, he has been presenting research studies at different international conferences in Pakistan, Japan, and the USA. He is an active member of the Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics (DAMOP) of the American Physical Society (APS), Health Physics Society (HPS), and Optica (formerly Optical Society of America).
